Marine Grade 5052-H116 Coil: What Certification Means
Coil ordered for welded marine structure should be specified as 5052-H116 or H321 — the tempers qualified under ASTM B928 with intergranular corrosion (ASTM G66/G67) test reports. Ordinary H32 may look identical in the warehouse but lacks the sensitization control that prevents intergranular attack in seawater weld zones.
