Aluminum Rectangular Tube FAQ
Do you provide surface treatment certificates?
Yes. For anodizing and powder coating, we provide thickness and adhesion test reports.
What is your typical lead time?
Standard sizes: 7–10 days; Custom production: 15–25 days depending on order volume.
What's the main difference between 6061 and 6063 rectangular tubing?
6061-T6 is a structural alloy with higher strength, ideal for load-bearing applications like machine frames and support beams. 6063-T5 is an architectural alloy with a better surface finish and is more suitable for applications like window frames, trim, and railings where aesthetics are important.
Can you manufacture a rectangular tube with different wall thicknesses on the height and width?
This would be a custom profile. While standard rectangular tubes have uniform wall thickness, we absolutely have the capability to extrude custom profiles to your exact design. Please send us your drawing for a quote.
What is the difference between an aluminum tube and an aluminum pipe?
Generally speaking, a “tube” is defined by its exact outside dimensions (e.g. 50 mm x 100 mm) and is used for structural and mechanical applications. A “pipe” is defined by its nominal inside diameter and is used to transport fluids or gases.
What is your Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ)?
For our in-stock items, we can accommodate smaller orders. For custom extrusions, the typical MOQ is 1000kg per size, as this is the most economical production run. Please contact us to discuss your specific needs.
